What’s new 2D: Auto Balloons in 2D Cabinets
Revolutionize your design efficiency with the latest enhancement in SOLIDWORKS Electrical. Now introducing the much-anticipated feature—Auto Balloons in 2D Cabinets!
Understanding the BOM (Bill of Materials) details for components in intricate cabinet layouts has historically posed challenges. However, in SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2024, users can now access the Auto-ballooning function while documenting 2D cabinet layouts. Utilize the “Auto balloon” tool in the cabinet layout ribbon menu to conveniently generate balloons, facilitating effortless identification of components within the cabinet.
What’s New 2D: Shortening Lists Using Ranges
Now, Users can configure a column in reports to utilize a range of values instead of explicitly listing each item within that column range. This enhancement in report generation aims to condense information, thereby conserving valuable drawing space.
For instance, rather than displaying components individually as Q1, Q2, Q3, and so forth, the merged functionality will represent these components as a range, such as Q1..-Q3.
To activate this feature, users can modify the report configuration settings. Within the Columns tab, the Value range option can be accessed, allowing the selection of Merge Rows. Furthermore, this option can be applied simultaneously to multiple columns within the same report configuration.
What’s New 3D: Changing length of multiple of rails and ducts
The challenge resided in the limitations of earlier versions, allowing users to modify the length of only one rail or duct at a time, leading to significant time and effort consumption.
However, SOLIDWORKS Electrical latest enhancement brings forth a solution! Users can now simultaneously modify the lengths of multiple rails and ducts within 3D cabinet layouts, effectively reducing the need for time-consuming individual adjustments.
What’s New 3D: Route Active Location Only
In SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2024, the enhancement of “Route Active Location” introduces a time-saving feature that limits the automatic route creation to specific focused areas within the design. This improvement contrasts with SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2023 by allowing users to designate and prioritize regions or segments for automatic route generation.
Compared to the previous version, this enhancement enables designers to focus the routing process only on selected areas, preventing unnecessary routing throughout the entire design. By confining the automatic route creation to specific zones or active locations, users can efficiently manage and expedite the routing process, optimizing design workflows and reducing unnecessary routing iterations.
The advancements and capabilities introduced in SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2024 are aimed at empowering users to operate more efficiently by directing attention towards high-value tasks, while allowing the system to manage repetitive, routine, and time-consuming activities. These enhancements collectively contribute to an optimized design setting, enabling a focus on innovation and the creation of high-quality designs that expedite the product development process.
