SOLIDWORKS can be installed by running the SOLIDWORKS installation setup file downloaded from SolidWorks customer portal and then by adding SOLIDWORKS license key to choose the product for installation. Once the installation is completed, you must activate the license key of SOLIDWORKS.
You can download SOLIDWORKS through the SOLIDWORKS customer portal. Go to https://customerportal.solidworks.com/ and log in. If you don’t have an account, you can create one using your serial number. After logging into the SOLIDWORKS customer portal go to “download and updates”. Here you can either select “SOLIDWORKS products “of the particular service pack or download it.

SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager is installed by running the SOLIDWORKS license manager setup file and then by adding SOLIDWORKS license key to choose the products for installation. SOLIDWORKS License manager is the primary tool for downloading, installing, modifying, updating, repairing, and removing the SOLIDWORKS software.
The SolidNetWork License Manager hosts the SOLIDWORKS network licenses on a server to provide to client machines. This small application that runs in the background. If you specify a SolidNetWork License serial number when installing SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager identifies that computer as a SolidNetWork license client and prompts you for the SolidNetWork license manager computer name and port number to connect the client to the license manage.
If you have your network License serial key, you can add them to the existing SolidNetwork License Manager. On the current server machine, within the Control Panel > Program and Features > right click on the line item SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager and click “Change”. This should launch the SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager Setup, where we can modify/add/remove network serial numbers.

Yes, SOLIDWORKS will perform in a virtualized environment. A good GPU, which runs with the OpenGL, can render models that are far more complex much faster and can provide optimal performance. Certified GPU gives more stability and visual performance—frame-rate when rotating a model, lighting, anti-aliasing, using transparency and supports real view of a model. When dealing with large assemblies, workstation cards will perform significantly better than the gaming-focused card.
For the small assembly and simple parts i5 is best, but if the user is working with large and complex parts, assemblies and drawings, it is recommended to go with i7 and above. Most general modelling tasks in SOLIDWORKS – such as opening and saving files, rebuilding assemblies, and rotating models – run the fastest with a CPU that has a high operating frequency (Ghz).
The processor with higher clock speed gives faster and optimal performance of SOLIDWORKS. Some processes in SOLIDWORKS like working with multiple views in drawings and rendering uses multicore processors. Other products of SOLIDWORKS SUCH AS SIMULATION and Flow Simulation perform best with multicore processors.
