SOLIDWORKS Serial Number/key is a unique identifier assigned to determine the set of products a user is entitled to install and use. The serial key is a set of 24 numbers and is different for different SOLIDWORKS products.
SOLIDWORKS Serial Number is categorized in 3 different categories:
- Standalone: The Standalone serial key starts from 9000xxxxxxxxxxxx and is activated or tied to a particular workstation.
- SNL or Network: The Network serial key starts from 9010xxxxxxxxxx. it will float license between client systems connected on the network and also known as Floating serial key
- Education or Student: The Student serial key starts from 9020xxxxxxxxxxx and the Education serial key starts from 9701xxxxxxxxx. This types of serials keys used for educational and training institutes.
3 different ways to find your SOLIDWORKS Serial Number
1.SOLIDWORKS Help menu:
The easiest and straight forward way to know your serial key through the help menu in SOLIDWORKS.
Launch SOLIDWORKS>>Help>>About SOLIDWORKS>>Show serial number
2.SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager
Through control panel you can access to Installation manger, which will give access to all the additional product’s serial keys the user is entitled to use.
Control panel>>Programs and Features>>SOLIDWORKS XXXX>>Right click>> Change>>Modify your installation.
NOTE: In front of every SOLIDWORKS products selected, the user can find SOLIDWORKS Serial keys.
3.Windows Registry Editor
After installing the SOLIDWORKS, the SOLIDWORKS folder will created automatically under software section. Where, the user can find the serial keys written.
