The 3DEXPERIENCE platform offers a powerful feature called Collaborative Spaces. Before we begin this blog, it is important to offer a concise introduction to the 3DSpace application. This app under the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform enables the creation of data storage called “Collaborative Spaces,” which provides secure cloud storage along with relationship management for CAD files automatically. However, users are not required to depend solely on the 3DSpace app while working within the platform. The Bookmark Editor application provides a user-friendly, folder-like interface for organizing and accessing content from different collaborative spaces. Additionally, the robust 3DSearch feature presents an effective means of locating and accessing items that are not included in a bookmark.
Deleting Files from the Bookmark Editor App:
The Bookmark Editor App is the primary tool for erasing content from the Collaborative Space, which also guarantees its irreversible deletion from your 3DEXPERIENCE platform. To remove items from a bookmark, click on the trash can icon found in the upper right corner of the application. It is important to note that the Bookmark Editor App provides two functions, Delete and Remove, and It’s hard to recognize the distinction between the two options and the details of these options are provided below.
Remove: “Takes the chosen content out of the bookmark.
Choose one or more objects from the bookmark, then use this command to remove the chosen content.”
Delete: “Deletes the specified objects permanently.
If you select one item, you can eliminate all of its progeny by using the Include structural objects option.”
Deleting Files from the Lifecycle Collaborative App:
Alternatively, you can use the Collaborative Lifecycle app to access the same removal capability as the Bookmark Editor app. This is particularly helpful in situations where an item might not be present in a bookmark. You can use the integrated search function or just drag and drop items into the Collaborative Lifecycle application.
After the program has loaded with content, choose the items you want to remove and click the trashcan button on the action bar’s Lifecycle tab, which is far to the right.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is instrumental in managing cloud data and deleting files from a collaborative space, as not all users are equipped with the same file deletion capabilities as those available on local drives. To ensure the security and ease of maintenance of cloud data, administrators have the option to impose various restrictions on the deletion features for files stored in the platform.
