Design collaboration in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is a cloud-based, integrated approach that connects teams across various disciplines design, engineering, manufacturing, and management in a unified digital environment. This collaboration enables real-time cocreation and communication, ensuring that all stakeholders work with the most current design data, reducing errors, and improving overall efficiency.
Let’s have a look at the following enhancements implemented in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for collaboration in 2025.
- Quick Tour
This guided tour provides tool tips for each important step and familiarizes users with different types of concepts, such as bookmarks, collaborative spaces, unlocking and locking files, and saving them. Once completed, they can choose to go through the next quick tour. It’s a great way to keep users informed about platform concepts right from the start.
- 3DSwym Integration
3DSwym Integration provides both community access as well as chat conversations. It takes full advantage of the share capability, so users can post files to these conversations and receive markups back. Users can stay connected to their colleagues and coworkers without ever leaving SOLIDWORKS.
- Update Notification
This enhancement ensures design engineers always stay updated with the latest changes in their designs. Designers are notified about local cache out of data when the design changes are made and a popup notification informing them about latest updates. This new enhancement provides clear visibility to what models have changed and needs to be reloaded, ensuring users are always working on the latest version of their parts.
- Drawing Approval Stamps
This year is the ability to stamp multiple approvals on drawings. For customers who are utilizing formal approval processes where multiple people need to review and approve a drawing, these approvals are now automatically added to the drawing title block, providing clear traceability.
- SOLIDWORKS PDM
SOLIDWORKS PDM is now supported for SOLIDWORKS Connected users. This is a great enhancement for customers who value the licensing and deployment capabilities of SOLIDWORKS Connected but want to leverage an existing SOLIDWORKS PDM environment as their data management solution. Organizations can still benefit from secure collaboration by sharing your designs with others, allowing them to view and markup without installing a viewer.
- Bookmark Editor
On the web, users can now access their files regardless of where they are on their dashboard. 3DDrive, 3DSpace, Part Supply, and Bookmark Editor can all be accessed from the main dashboard toolbar, making it easy to browse your files and streamlining a user’s access to data on the platform.
- History:
When the user accesses the information panel on your design, a robust history is captured for the item. Clicking on the history tab reveals many of the actions that have been performed on the design, such as the modify date, who modified the design, the action that was taken, the maturity state, and the details of the action. This provides traceability that’s easily accessed from the user interface.
The 2025 enhancements in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform boost collaboration with improved real-time data sharing, advanced version control, enhanced user interfaces, streamlined workflows, and better integration for cross-functional teams.
