What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2025 – Performance updates in Assemblies

What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2025 – Performance updates in Assemblies

Assembly associative property/workbench is one of the integral and often used among SOLIDWORKS users. With the latest release of SOLIDWORKS 2025, we will explore the new updates with respect to Assembly.

Document Group:

In day-to-day work, we will be required to work with a certain set of files like active design documents, reference documents & so on. It takes time to open these documents at the start of each day. Document Group is a new enhancement with which you can organize documents that are required to be opened together, so you can trigger this option instead of fetching the file or pin the file in home page.

What's New in SOLIDWORKS Assemblies

Large Design Review (LDR) Mode:

In previous versions of SOLIDWORKS, the breadcrumbs selection and component preview window were supported in Resolved & Lightweight mode only. With SOLIDWORKS 2025, it is extended to Large Design Review Mode as well. While reviewing CAD Files, we can easily isolate the component in Large Design Review Mode, thereby reducing loading time & graphics usage involved.

SpeedPak:

SpeedPak is generally helpful while inserting a large assembly file into another large assembly in order to create simplified version without losing references. In SOLIDWORKS 2025, you can easily create a SpeedPak instance for an assembly while inserting it instead of creating it in assembly level. It also provides the option to easily switch between the assembly & SpeedPak configuration.

Display Table:

If you are often dealing with quite a lot of variations in your CAD data and find it difficult to control the hide/show states in the file, then using the new Display State Table feature, you can easily manage hidden/shown components in Assemblies through this unified table. To ensure the easy management of controlling the visibility across the parts in an assembly, you can easily achieve the same through the display state table.

Copy with Mates:

In the previous versions, Copy with Mates feature was supported for standard mates. But, with SOLIDWORKS 2025, its capability is extended for all mechanical & advanced mates. From SOLIDWORKS 2025, while adding constraints for patterned/similar components in assemblies, you can right now use the Copy with Mates feature for standard, mechanical & advanced mates. Thereby reducing the time & effort involved.
