We will always suggest users to upgrade the custom size in the Virtual Memory first, instead of modifying the registry settings.<strong><br><\/strong>If this is resolved, no modification of the registry settings is required. If this does not fix the issue, you may need to change the registry settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> There is no guarantee that problems caused by modifying the registry can be fixed easily.<br>Changing the Windows registry comes with risks and may lead to system errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases, you may need to reinstall the Windows operating system to recover from these issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method 1:&nbsp;The Virtual Memory Settings<\/strong><br>The maximum virtual memory is usually set to twice the amount of installed physical RAM.<strong><br><\/strong><br>By default, Windows manages this setting automatically, and it typically sets the virtual memory size to about <strong>1.5 times<\/strong> your physical RAM.<br><br>You can check or change these settings by following these steps:<br>1. Advanced &gt; Change<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"583\" height=\"843\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-3.png\" alt=\"Advanced &gt; Change\" class=\"wp-image-42440\" style=\"width:279px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-3.png 583w, https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-3-207x300.png 207w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 583px) 100vw, 583px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>4.<strong> Uncheck<\/strong> the box that says, <strong>&#8220;Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.&#8221;<\/strong><br>Then, <strong>select the drive<\/strong> where you want to set the virtual memory.<br><br>5. For &#8220;Initial size,&#8221; enter a value that is twice the amount of physical RAM installed on your system.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example;<br>If you have <strong>16 GB of RAM<\/strong>, enter <strong>32000 MB <\/strong>for initial size and <strong>3400 MB<\/strong> for Maximum size.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong> Click on \u2018Set\u2019 and \u2018OK\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8<\/strong>. Restart your workstation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Method 2: The Registry Settings<\/u><\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.<strong> Open Registry Editor in Elevated Mode<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Press <strong>Windows Key + R<\/strong>, type regedit, then press <strong>Ctrl + Shift + Enter<\/strong> to run it as administrator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2. <strong>Navigate to the following registry path:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\WindowsNT\\CurrentVersion\\Windows<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"771\" height=\"673\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-5.png\" alt=\"Navigate to the following registry path\" class=\"wp-image-42442\" style=\"width:349px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-5.png 771w, https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-5-300x262.png 300w, https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-5-768x670.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 771px) 100vw, 771px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Modify the following values:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Locate the values named:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>GDIProcessHandleQuota<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>USERProcessHandlQuota<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If they do not exist, right-click on the right pane, choose <strong>New &gt; DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/strong>, and name them accordingly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Double-click each value, set the <strong>Base<\/strong> to <strong>Decimal<\/strong>, then enter:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>GDIProcessHandle Quota<strong>:<\/strong> <strong>65536<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>USERProcessHandle Quota<strong>:<\/strong> <strong>18000<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4.
