SOLIDWORKS provides \u2018<strong>Mirror<\/strong>\u2019 tool, which allows users to create replica of the selected object enabling the efficient designing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018<strong>Mirror<\/strong>\u2019 is a type of pattern that creates a copy of one or more features, symmetrical about a face or a plane. The mirrored elements are associative in nature and hence the modifications in original design can be replicated in no time. This tool is available with both part as well as Assembly environments in <a href=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/solidworks-3d-cad\/\">SOLIDWORKS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mirroring Parts in SOLIDWORKS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Part environment, can create an opposite handed replica of faces, features, and bodies. This can be done in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\">\n<li>Selecting the features to be mirrored and enabling the Mirror command.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enabling the Mirror command and selecting the references and features to be mirrored.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the Mirror command is launched, select a plane with respect to which the mirror a face, feature or a body mirrored. This adds the resulting components to the assembly as a new instances which are opposite hand versions of original components. The types of orientations available are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>X mirrored, Y mirrored<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>X mirrored and flipped, Y mirrored<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>X mirrored, Y mirrored and flipped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>X mirrored and flipped, Y mirrored and flipped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Hit OK to complete the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Creating the Opposite-hand version of the Components:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Mirror Components<\/strong> command allows to create Opposite-hand version of parts, subassemblies or assembly features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opposite-hand version can also be saved as a:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\">\n<li>New File<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Derived configuration in the same file<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: Selections<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Mirror plane<\/strong>, select a plane or planar face to mirror about and for <strong>Components to Mirror<\/strong>, select one or more components same as mentioned above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: Set Orientation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set the <strong>Mirror Type<\/strong> and Orientation as <strong>Opposite-hand version<\/strong> under <strong>Orient Components<\/strong> by selecting a component and use the options provided in the Property Manager as per your requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Next to proceed further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3: Opposite Hand<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Opposite Hand Property Manager, select the format in which the Opposite Hand version of the file need to be saved.
