You can create, edit, and delete parts and blocks at any point in the design cycle without any history-based restrictions. This is particularly useful during the conceptual design process, when one frequently experiments with and makes changes to the assembly structure and components.<\/p>\n<h3>To Create a Layout-Based Assembly Design in SOLIDWORKS:<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">Open a new assembly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18076 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cl1.jpg\" alt=\"Layout-Based Assembly Design in SOLIDWORKS\" width=\"800\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">In the Begin Assembly Property Manager, click Create Layout . A 3D sketch opens, and layout appears in the Feature Manager design tree.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18076 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cl2.jpg\" alt=\" Assembly Design in SOLIDWORKS\" width=\"800\" height=\"417\" \/><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">Create sketch entities and group related entities into block and close the sketch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18076\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cl3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">Similarly, the same procedure is performed for creating the remaining blocks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Make Part from Block Property Manager<\/h3>\n<p>In assemblies, you can create parts from blocks in layout sketches.<\/p>\n<h4>To create a part from block:<\/h4>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">Click Make Part from Block<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/icon1.png\" \/> (Layout Tools toolbar).<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">Select one or more blocks from the layout sketch.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">Make selections in the Property Manager as described below.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 10px 0px;\">Click <i class=\"fa fa-check\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Selected Blocks<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/icon2.png\" \/>Selected Blocks list the blocks that one selects.<\/p>\n<h3>Block to Part Constraint<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/icon3.png\" \/>Creates a part that is projected from the plane of the block in the layout sketch, but not constrained to be coplanar with it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/icon4.png\" \/>Constrains the part to be coplanar with the plane of the block in the layout sketch.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18076\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cl4.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After creating part, right click on the part in the Feature Manager design tree and click open part.
