SOLIDWORKS Predefined Views<\/strong> can be added to a drawing template to further customize it. Views are optional for the drawing template. If Predefined Views<\/strong> are added to the template, they are free of references. The references to parts or assemblies can be added at any time using Insert Model<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Steps to Add SOLIDWORKS Predefined Views To Drawing Template<\/p>\n

      Open SOLIDWORKS<\/a> 2018.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Click New. Select the default template for Drawing and then click OK.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Select the standard sheet size, A4 (ISO) and click OK and close Model View.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Click Predefined View<\/strong> and locate the view on the sheet.<\/p>\n

      This can be found from<\/p>\n

      Menu: Insert, Drawing View, Predefined View<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Shortcut Menu: Right-click the sheet and click Drawing Views, Predefined View<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Set the View Orientation<\/strong> to Front and Hidden Lines Visible.<\/strong> Click OK.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Add Projected Views from the predefined Front view to create Top and Left views.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Create an Isometric view using Projected View <\/strong>from the Front. Set it to Hidden Lines Removed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Click File, Save Sheet Format<\/strong>. Enter the File name and for Save as type will be Sheet Formats (*. slddrt).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Click File, Save As.<\/strong> For Save as type select Drawing Templates (*.drwdot).<\/strong> Enter the name 4_View_A4 <\/strong>and click Save.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Close and do not save the current drawing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  Now Create a new drawing using the 4_View_A4 drawing template. Cancel the Model View.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  Right-click in the Front view, click Insert Model, and choose the part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
