In this blog we will take a look at default SOLIDWORKS change origin \/ coordinate system.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Change Origin orientation of parts and coordinating system<\/h2>\n<p>We can see in the below imported Miniature bulb part that the origin is located someplace which might not desired.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now in order to change the co-ordinate system we have to add a new reference Coordinate System which can be added by making use of existing geometry or sketch.<\/p>\n<p>Now let\u2019s create a reference sketch to place our reference coordinate system as shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15605 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/22.jpg\" alt=\"Change Origin of Imported Parts in SOLIDWORKS.\" width=\"780\" height=\"486\" data-id=\"15605\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the sketch is created, select Coordinate system from the reference geometry tab.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15606\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/32.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"780\" height=\"440\" data-id=\"15606\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now select the new origin reference and axis reference to place and position the new coordinate system as shown below.
