The neat thing about it is that it has the ability to automatically correct many of the problems it finds. Using Design Checker involves two basic steps.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Build the standards file (the \u201cgood\u201d stuff)<br \/>\n&#8211; Check a document<\/p>\n<h2>SOLIDWORKS Design Checker tool<\/h2>\n<p>The standards file can be based on a published standard like ANSI or ISO, developed from an existing file or built item by item. I\u2019ll explain the basic process to define the standards file using the Build Checks option.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; margin-left: 30px; margin-bottom: 20px;\">\n<li>In SOLIDWORKS go to <strong>Tools &gt; Design Checker &gt; Build checks<\/strong><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15580 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/01.jpg\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Design Checker\" width=\"761\" height=\"438\" data-id=\"15580\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Select Create a New Standards File<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15581 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/13.jpg\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Design Checker\" width=\"696\" height=\"476\" data-id=\"15581\" \/><\/li>\n<li>There are tabs for the different kinds of checks.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15582 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/21.jpg\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Design Checker\" width=\"720\" height=\"356\" data-id=\"15582\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Each tab has a list of the different checks that can be made. For example, the Dimension Checks tab has these things that can be checked:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15583 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/31.jpg\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Design Checker\" width=\"299\" height=\"296\" data-id=\"15583\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Select a check to make from the list. Each check will have various options that can be selected. For example, for Arrow Style under Dimension Checks select the style of arrow and location or chose to use the document settings.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15576 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/41.jpg\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Design Checker tool\" width=\"884\" height=\"382\" data-id=\"15576\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For each check, select how critical it is: Critical, High, Medium, or Low<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15577 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/54.jpg\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Design Checker tool to correct designs\" width=\"343\" height=\"210\" data-id=\"15577\" \/><br \/>\nWhen all checks are developed, save the checking standard.<\/p>\n<h3>To check a document using SOLIDWORKS Design Checker:<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000; margin-left: 30px; margin-bottom: 20px;\">\n<li>Open the file to be checked in SOLIDWORKS and go to <strong>Tools &gt; Design Checker &gt; Check Active Document<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you want to use one of the published standards just check the appropriate box. To use a customized standards file, click on the green plus and browse to the standards file to add the saved standard to the list.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15578\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/64.jpg\" alt=\"6\" width=\"717\" height=\"408\" data-id=\"15578\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>\u201cCheck Document\u201d<\/strong> button to begin the check<\/li>\n<li><strong>Results <\/strong>\u2013 The coloured circles correspond to the criticality set up in the standard. Expanding each node will list each found error instance. Clicking on the result will highlight it in the graphics area. The results can be saved out in a report by clicking the diskette icon in the upper left corner.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15579 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/73.jpg\" alt=\"Design checker in SOLIDWORKS\" width=\"480\" height=\"411\" data-id=\"15579\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Each problem can be corrected individually by clicking the Correct Selected button. Or you can also select Auto Correct All which will fix what it can. There will be some, though, that must be corrected manually such as overlapping dimensions and misspellings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This is just a brief introduction to Design Checker.
