To create an Indent, a Tool body must exist and should intersect with the Main or <strong>Target Body<\/strong> which receives the Indent. The Indent Feature is used to reshape thin walls of a Target Body to the shape of one or more intersecting Tool Bodies. The indentation Thickness and optional Clearance are controlled by Numeric values.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-left: 30px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li><strong>Target Body<\/strong> is the part to be indented.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tool Body<\/strong> is a solid body which provides the shape of the <strong>Indent<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To create an <strong>Indent<\/strong> as shown below:<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15323 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/03.jpg\" alt=\"Indent feature in solidworks\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" data-id=\"15323\" \/><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li>The indent part should include two intersecting solid bodies<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15323 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/16.jpg\" alt=\" Solidworks indent feature\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" data-id=\"15323\" \/><\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-size: 15px; color: #000;\">\n<li>Now we need totally three indents over the <strong>Target Body<\/strong> with equal spacing or any desired angle using a <strong>Circular pattern<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To use an Indent feature: <strong>Menu &gt; Features &gt; Indent &gt;<\/strong> Click <strong>Indent<\/strong> and select the body which needs to be indented<strong>(Target Body)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Now select the bottom of the Tool body to create the shape of the <strong>Indent<\/strong> and give the <strong>Thickness<\/strong> and the <strong>Clearance<\/strong> under <strong>Parameters<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe preview shows the <strong>Indent<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15326 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/25.jpg\" alt=\"Solidworks indent tool\" width=\"620\" height=\"346\" data-id=\"15326\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Isolate: <\/strong>Click the Main or <strong>Target Body<\/strong> from the Solid Bodies in the Feature Manager Tree and Click <strong>Isolate<\/strong><strong><em>OR<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Deleting Solid Body: <\/strong>In the <strong>Feature Manager design tree<\/strong> click on <strong>Solid body<\/strong> and choose the Solid Bodies to be deleted- Right-click a body and click <strong>Delete Body<\/strong>&#8211; Select the <strong>Tool Body<\/strong> and the <strong>Circular Pattern<\/strong> &gt; Click <strong>OK <\/strong>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-5\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15328\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/35.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"250\" height=\"416\" data-id=\"15328\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-7\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15327\" src=\"https:\/\/ckonnect.in\/solidworks\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/45.jpg\" alt=\"4\" width=\"448\" height=\"390\" data-id=\"15327\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>With this an <strong>Indent<\/strong> is created in a <strong>Multibody Design<\/strong> easily using <strong>Indent Feature<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indent feature is a tool which is used within parts where multiple bodies exists.
