SOLIDWORKS 2018 includes many new features and enhancements that respond directly to the needs and requests from users across the SOLIDWORKS community.
User Experience has always been a Top Priority for SOLIDWORKS. That’s why, there are many enhancements made in SOLIDWORKS 2018 to user experience, which are as follows:
Welcome Screen:
Now in 2018, whenever you start SOLIDWORKS, you will be greeted with a new Welcome Screen. Where you can immediately access your new templates for parts, assemblies and drawings along with your recent documents. And you have immediate access to learning resources and tutorials from my.solidworks.com.
Assembly Open progress indicator:
When you open any assembly, the new assembly open progress indicator lets you know exactly, where SOLIDWORKS is up to when loading the assembly. It also shows the time taken to open the same assembly last time.
Also, the performance evaluation tool now gives a deep insight on how the assembly is performing and which factors are slowing down the assembly.
Folder in feature Manager Design Tree:
The Folders are now colour coded and divisionally indicate which folders contain suppressed or hidden components.
Mouse Gestures:
Mouse gestures are now more customizable, we can now include 2,3,4,8 or 12 gestures to put your key commands right at your fingertips
Select Over Geometry:
Now we can select features or components that are over another geometry and perform selections without selecting the unnecessary details of the background by pressing ‘T’ key and by dragging the left mouse button over the features required.
All these enhancements help to improve your productivity, giving you a richer user experience, greater efficiency and deliver great design with SOLIDWORKS 2018.
